"Quotes are scattered throughout the piece, which seem to refer to some sort of religious text. The use of these passages points to the piece having a beating heart there is an actual message the artists are getting at, even if its obscure. The language of religious dogma which tends to be exaggerated fantastic passionate naïve fits perfectly into an overall vocabulary of camp and the artists appropriation of it is their bid for seriousness. You cant help but be struck by the how genuine the quotes sound, even if you know deep down that they refer to something the artists find insidious."

Quick demo of the new dynamic shadows option in the latest SL release candidate 1.23. It's application for art has some interesting potential. There is a bug with some nvidia cards that does not allow anti-aliasing enabled at the same time. Try disabling AA if the client is crashing. Download the client here: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php#download-Testviewers To turn on dynamic shadows: 1. Enable the advanced menu - CTRL+ALT+D 2. Go to Debug Settings 3. Set "RenderUseFBO" to TRUE 4. Set "RenderDeferred" to TRUE

Juria's art in Second Life has the power to grab the viewers attention and hold them transfixed. This new installation, Moth Universe, is no exception. I chose to do another close-up, single-shot video because fussing with it and changing camera angles would only break the feeling of immersion. I really like Juria's work close up, you could take a screenshot at any point on this video for instance and it would be an interesting abstract image all on its own.

Multimedia art installation created especially for the event 'Artists on the Green' at the NMC Campus (12/08/06).

*This unedited footage was taken from an earlier, incomplete version of the installation but it allows you to get a closer look at the work than in the static footage from PART 1.

The video was made using only the limited tools in Second Life and as such does have some unfortunate camera angles and glitches.
